The Forced Omission Archive is an evolving digital archive documenting the lives, works, and legacies of writers, scientists, philosophers, artists, and other intellectuals whose voices were suppressed through censorship, political persecution, imprisonment, or execution during the Soviet era. Through painting, historical research, archival materials, and contemporary artistic practice, the archive seeks to preserve and restore histories that authoritarian systems attempted to erase.

The printing of this book has been made possible through the generous support of the CPW Kingston Media Lab.

“Forced Omission” is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, thanks to the sponsorship of Unison Arts Center in New Paltz, New York.
